One million visitor mark reached in shopping center A Bloc

In less than two months, over a million visitors have visited the new shopping center A Bloc in Otaniemi. The center was opened on August 30th 2018, and the million visitor mark was reached on Friday, October 26th 2018.

Since the opening in August, A Bloc’s operation has started well. The busiest time in terms of visitors is on Thursdays, especially lunch time and late afternoon. The visitor record of the shopping center is currently 26 821 visitors on Friday September 7th when students and alumni tried to empty the Alko store in an event organized by Polyteknikkojen Raittiusseura PoRa. The event gathered plenty of participants and spectators during the whole day.

Our own expectations with visitors have been exceeded, and we are very pleased with how A Bloc has come to life! The students and the community have taken the place as their own, just waiting for rematch of the PoRa Alko attack…”, comments the shopping center manager Jatta Reijonen from Aalto University Campus & Real Estate.

Located in the center of the Aalto University campus and the junction of public transport, A Bloc serves as the center of services in the Otaniemi area. The shopping center offers plenty of restaurants and cafés, as well as shops, specialty stores and other services to fulfill the daily needs of the people in the area.
